Painting, for me, is an act of exploration. I do not begin with answers, messages, or conclusions. I begin with curiosity. A shape, a memory, an emotion, a human encounter, a landscape, a myth, or simply the play of color may serve as the starting point. The painting then becomes a journey of discovery. My work explores different visual territories. Through figurative abstraction, I investigate themes of human connection, vulnerability, transformation, and the search for meaning. My watercolor paintings often reflect a lifelong fascination with Greece—its history, mythology, landscape, and enduring spiritual legacy. In my non-representational abstractions, I am drawn to the expressive possibilities of color, form, rhythm, and composition. Although these bodies of work differ in appearance, they are united by a common purpose: to explore what lies beneath the surface of experience. I am interested in the questions that accompany us throughout life. Who are we? How do we connect with one another? What gives meaning to our joys and sorrows? What remains mysterious and unknowable? Rather than attempting to answer these questions, I seek to create a space in which they can be felt and contemplated. Painting is also a form of dialogue—a conversation between intention and accident, control and surrender, the visible and the invisible. Often the work reveals something to me that I did not know when I began. If there is a philosophy behind my art, it is a belief that exploration itself has value. The world, and our place within it, is far richer and more complex than any single explanation can contain. Through paint, I continue the lifelong adventure of looking, questioning, and discovering.
